Phew, it's almost the end of the quarter. Finals, and final projects to get done. Anyhoo, I wanted to rant about Shepard Fairey. Maybe you like him, maybe you don't--I don't. You talk about originality and appreciation for art or even graphics, this guy maybe has none...I just recently read an article on Mr. Fairey and his work that has sky rocketed him to fame and fortune. Just to note, I didn't like his stuff before this article anyways. Essentially, Fariey took work executed by other artists during different periods of time and used them as designs for his work. Okay, so he copied them without giving credit to the work, this would be fine if he altered the work and made it his own but the images are exact, EXACTly the same. anyhoo read for yourself and make you're own decision.
